Creating a Place for Women in Sport
In 2018, Inspiro and Yarra Ranges Council launched 'Creating a Place for Women in Sport', a practical, gender equity self-assessment tool for sport and recreation clubs to create equal opportunities for women in sport. The tool aims to assist clubs to assess their environment, and identify strengths and opportunities to create positive actions for gender equality. The tool also supports clubs to plan for action as they go and develop ideas for change. To access the self-assessment tool and supporting resources, click here.
This project has been shortlisted for a 2018 VicHealth Health Promotion award.
Water in Sport
The ‘Water in Sport’ program is working with Yarra Ranges Council to improve access to and promote water and healthy drinks in different council-owned sporting venues.
The project also aims to increase positive attitudes towards choosing water instead of drinks with added sugars. We are also working towards improving the availability of healthier food options in these venues, making choosing a healthy choice the easy choice.
