Inspiro 2019 tertiary / university scholarships
The Inspiro Tertiary Heath Scholarship program supports local tertiary and university health students in pursuing their chosen career. Click here to apply in 2019. Applications must be received by 4pm on Friday 29 March 2019.

Are you a resident of the Shire of Yarra Ranges who is currently undertaking or are enrolled to commence:

  • Tertiary studies in a recognised health science course at an Australian University or higher education TAFE institute or
  • Vocational education and training (VET) in a health science field

About Inspiro

Inspiro is a local, non-profit community health service providing primary care services to the Yarra Ranges community.  Our team of more than 90 staff are here to connect everyone to the health care they need, regardless of their situation. We provide dental services, podiatry, physiotherapy and exercise physiology, children’s and adult occupational therapy, children’s and adult speech pathology, counselling, dietetics, diabetes education and health promotion.

Award categories

The program offers the following awards:

  • $10,000 Inspiro Tertiary Health Scholarship
  • $7,500 Inspiro Tertiary Health Scholarship
  • $2,500 Encouragement Award
  • $2,500 Encouragement Award.



Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be:

Residents of the Shire of Yarra Ranges who are currently undertaking or are enrolled to commence:

  • Tertiary studies in a recognised health science course at an Australian University or higher education TAFE institute or
  • Vocational education and training (VET) in a health science field


Applicants must have resided in the Shire of Yarra Ranges for at least 12 months.  Students temporarily residing outside of the Yarra Ranges Shire for study purposes are also eligible but must demonstrate that their full-time residence is in the Yarra Ranges. Contact Yarra Ranges Council to confirm if your address is eligible: http://www.yarraranges.vic.gov.au/Home

Undergraduate and postgraduate, part-time and full-time students can apply.

 

Selection criteria

The selection panel will consider the following criteria:

  1. Academic achievement that demonstrates your commitment to succeeding in your chosen field of study
  2. Community involvement that demonstrates your commitment to your local community
  3. Personal attributes that could help demonstrate your suitability for the scholarship

The panel will also consider special circumstances, including financial and/or personal hardship.  Referee comments are also required in your application.



Selection panel

The selection panel includes representatives from the Inspiro Board of Governance and a community representative.

Applications must be received by 4pm on Friday 29 March 2019

Interviews - Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview so please ensure a contact phone number is provided.

Presentation event - An official award presentation event will be held on Thursday 2 May 2019 4.00pm at Inspiro, 17 Clarke Street, Lilydale.  An invitation will be sent to award recipients and family and friends are invited to attend.
