Our talented, passionate team members truly love what they do - helping people. Today we're introducing you to Daisy.
Hey Daisy! How long have you been with Inspiro?
I've been with Inspiro since March 2019 and have been working in Health Promotion since 2014, where I have mainly worked in the Prevention of Violence Against Women and in the Monitoring and Evaluation of prevention-focused planning and projects.
What’s your role at Inspiro?
I am a Senior Health Promotion Officer and my role involves managing the implementation and evaluation of the Integrated Health Promotion plan. This is a 4-year plan that outlines the projects and initiatives that the Inspiro Health Promotion team plans to implement with our community and partners over a four year period.
Part of this role also involves working with our local council and community health organisations on the Shared Strategic Health Planning Partnership(SSHPP) to improve our shared planning and alignment of the local community health Intergrated Health Promotion plans and Yarra Ranges Council's Health and Wellbeing Plan.
What are you working on right now?
I am currently running the Let's Take Action for Gender Equality and Respect program, which is a primary school-focused program that builds the capacity of primary school-aged children who are passionate about becoming Ambassadors for Gender Equality within their communities.
The program is being run with 15 students from three local schools (45students in total). These future Gender Equity Ambassadors are learning about how to be a bystander for change and how to lead projects within their own school community.
At the end of the program these students will have designed and run their own school projects that address improve gender equality and respectful relationships in a way that is unique to their school.
Best part about working at Inspiro?
My team and the amazing partners I get to work with.
- Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
- Talking to my Daughter about the Economy by Yanis Varoufakis
- Sons and Lovers by D.H Lawrence
t may be obvious that I struggle to finish a book before I start the next one. I also have a tendency to buy more books than I have time to read(in surplus with about 30 books at the moment). I have no regrets!
